I'll start with the basics. My name is Sarah, I'm a mid-twenties mom of three little nuggets (A boy and two girls) who are frequently the subjects of my projects. I'm married to a wonderful man who takes care of our family, and who is always looking for ways to serve us. I'm the luckiest woman alive.
I love to take on projects. I love crafts, but there are many other things I love too. I love to cook. I love being active with my family. I love fashion and interior design. I had planned on going to school to persue my education in both these fields before I got married, but what can I say? I got a better offer. I started this blog in 2008 to document the things I have done. I decided that I wanted to share my projects with the world because sometimes if someone has some tips and secrets to share, it ends up benefitting me...so that's what i want to do...benefit you with my tips, tutorials and secrets. I think that if we all share what we know how to do, we can all become united in bettering our lives for ourselves and our families.
My husband was in school and in the Army (still is) for a good chunk of our marriage, which means funds would get tight from time to time. Since my to-do lists rarely take a break, and I got used to finding cheap ways to accomplish my goals. This is another way I feel that I can help others through this blog. To let people know that you don't have to spend a ton of money to dress nice, have a nicely decorated home, cook a good meal, or give a nice gift. Sometimes it just takes a little digging through what you already have.
Anything else you want to know?? Well, I'm 6' 1" - and no, I didn't play basketball. If you ever saw me, you'd know why. Sometimes long legs equate to tripping over yourself. Walking in itself took years to master without falling flat on my face. You'll see a lot of projects where I add length to skirts, sleeves, and shirts because, let's face it...I'm not the norm, and not many companies make sleeves for 3' arms!
Another common question when people find out how tall I am - Is your husband tall? No. He's 3 inches shorter, and that's how we like it! I'm hoping to kind of even out this gene pool.
Some other things I enjoy: reading, cooking, planning school lessons for my kids, music (I used to play piano, violin and guitar, though have sadly dropped them a little bit over the years, one day I'll pick it all back up.), and spending time with those I care about.
Some dreams I have? To be able to be a "expert" seamstress, and be able to sew anything I want with ease, whether it be for me, or my kids (or anyone else). I want to completely and successfully homeschool my kids, I want to pick up my musical hobbies again, and be able to sit in circle with my kids for singing time playing the guitar like Maria on "Sound of Music" (my visions of the future are usually cheesy and glowy around the edges).
That about sums it up for me. I hope you enjoy this blog, and I hope you find it helpful in your quest to tackle your own "Never-Ending" to-do list!
